What is the Blend Door Actuator Re calibration Procedure for a 1998 Park Avenue?

So my 98 park avenue had the classic broken gear in the blend door actuator on the passenger side ( which manifested itself after a dead battery change), which meant I had heat blowing out on the passenger side while the ac system was on. Anyhow managed to take it out and apart ( which wasn't too hard to get to... ( after taking out the bottom panel and the glove box).
My question is what is the proper re calibration procedure for the blend door actuator, once everything is hooked up?
The service manual says to it needs to have the key in the run position for 3 minutes... but I did that and nothing happened at all. Does a fuse need to pulled/ battery need to be disconnected or did I not wait long enough.
This is my first time on the forum.. so any help would be appreciated.

Mine re-cal in less than a minute so something is off...or the actuators are so quiet you cannot hear them moving and calibrating. Maybe the passenger side temp actuator is bad?
Sometimes disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes (which reboots the computer), can fix glitches.

When you start the car and operate the HVAC:

Are your temp actuators now working correctly (setting the proper temp each side)?
Does the passenger temp control adjust the passenger temp actuator?
Can you manually switch the air flow to floor, mid, and windshield?

Try this, it may work! Turn on the ignition switch, & turn OFF the A/C control, Then turn OFF the the ignition switch (without starting the engine) then turn ON the the ignition switch & A/C control unit. Let it set for ten minutes with the A/C in the ON position. If that does not work, it may take up to 20-50 ignition cycles for the system to re-calibrate. Of course if you want to pay for the service of an technician with a Tech II scanner, it would be a much more simple process.

Was this issue ever solved? I had the same problem with hot air blowing out of the passenger side regardless of what was blowing out of the driver side on my 2000 Park Avenue Ultra. All other functions on the HVAC unit work except for passenger side temperature control.

I pulled another actuator (same part number) off of another Park Ave from a scrap yard and have tried to recalibrate it. When I cycle power and turn the car back on, I can see the actuator move all the way to one side (cold) then go back 3/4 of the way to the other side (hot) and it then gets stuck there and does not respond to any changes I make on the HVAC programmer.

I have tried the new actuator itself, as well as replacing the broken gear from my old actuator with the non-broken gear from my "new" actuator, and I obtain the same results either way.

Is it worth getting a Tech II scanner? What would the process be for recalibrating the actuator with the Tech II?

sorry, forgot to take pics.

Tech II On > Diagnostics > 2000(I did 1999, this should be same)> PASSENGER CAR > BODY > 3rd Digit of VIN(PRODUCT LINE) > HEAT AND AIR CONTROLS > SELF SERVICE > RECALIBRATE HVAC MOTORS

I actually don't have a Tech II yet but am considering buying one. Which Tech II do you actually have and do you get a lot of use out of it? I would definitely like to get one but they are rather expensive.
